With Domain Homes’ Urban 360, you can find the house of your dreams at an achievable price point. We will discuss the features included in your Urban 360 home, but first, a little about the program and what it can do for you.
What is Urban 360?
Last year, Domain Homes was approved to build new homes in East Tampa, with the goal of revitalizing the neighborhood, bringing new life to properties that had long been vacant or dilapidated, and providing new homeownership opportunities to Tampa’s teachers, firefighters, police officers, nurses and young families.
Since then, the city of Tampa has held special events for prospective buyers, reaching out to people who might not have thought of themselves as likely candidates for homeownership.
With hopes of convincing renters that owning a home is not only possible but could be cheaper in the long run, the city lets buyers know that there’s help available with Urban 360. The city has matched prospective home buyers with representatives from banks, area non-profit agencies that provide credit counseling services, and programs that offer down-payment assistance.
Owning a home means people who are now renting can lock in a fixed mortgage rate that allows them to make the same monthly payment for years, even decades.
That means there are no “rent increases” applied to a mortgage payment. It’s also possible to secure a monthly mortgage payment that amounts to less than what someone would pay for an apartment each month.
Urban neighborhoods can get revitalized in a lot of ways, but one of the surest ways is when people who are renting have the opportunity to buy a home.
Having the keys in hand to your brand-new home is a thrilling moment, and homeownership has traditionally provided a significant boost to urban neighborhoods.
Once families own their home, they feel a heightened stake in its future. They’re now a permanent part of the social fabric of that neighborhood.
Homeownership helps make cities better places for everyone living there.
Today, there’s an exciting opportunity in East Tampa primarily for first time home buyers to find their dream home.
That’s where Domain Homes, Tampa Bay’s urban neighborhood new home builder, has launched the Urban 360 program.
Done in partnership with the city of Tampa, Domain Homes broke ground on the first Urban 360 home in June of last year in the city’s Urban Core. Now there are seven happy homeowners, with 15 more on the way!
Even better, income-eligible buyers also have the opportunity to qualify for down payment assistance grants through this program.

The Home Features of Urban 360
The Urban 360 Collection will have a number of unique features. That includes finished garage interiors, professional landscaping with sodded yards and Bahia-type turfgrass, and exterior lighting at the front and back entrances.
Special energy efficiency features will include reinforced hurricane-resistant concrete block construction on the first floors and fabric hurricane shutters for all windows and doors.
Domain Homes also built a “Dream Center” at 815 E. Palm Ave., where buyers can preview the design, quality, and technology that will go in to each Urban 360 home and explore various options for floor plans and finishes alongside an interior designer. Potential buyers early on in the buying process can also partake in informational workshops on site.
The Dream Center also serves as a hospitality hub that homeowners and future homeowners will get to enjoy for years to come.
Who Qualifies for these Homes?
This program is designed for first time home buyers.
To qualify, homebuyers cannot have owned a home during the past three years and may need to attend financial classes as part of their loan qualification.
Down payment assistance grants may be available for up to $40,000. These grants are expected to help buyers get into a home by as much as three to five years sooner than if they had saved the financing on their own.
In recent years, inventory of homes for sale at this price point have been scarce in Tampa as well as most other cities across the country. But now, Tampa was just ranked as the number one housing market for first-time homebuyers by Zillow.
